Preface ........ Summery

Globalization is kind of standardization. Technical products are made according to national or international standards. The best example for standardization and globalization is computer technology with all his multimedia applications.

One of multimedia application is Education with very good developed teaching and learning tools. And, those tools are on the market and are already used globally! But, one link is missing - Educational Contents.

To understand better the expression Content, let us make small excursion to Television.
Although, the Television is very much older then Computer technology, the Television could be considered as very first multimedia phenomena using: audio, text, static, as well as moving pictures. Those phenomena are just the parts of technology in order to bring Television Programs to home TV Receiver. General name for those TV programs are: Contents!

Education Contents are: audio, text, static, as well as moving pictures that we can bring to the classroom as the lecture for different subjects.

How to apply the Education Content as the Lectures to be presented in the Classroom from the classroom Teacher is a part of the subject called New Curriculum:
-

  • In advance prepared and produced Lectures from Group of Teacher (3) by using Active (white) Board and other technology tools and elements of Power Point Presentation. Final product will be recorded on CD RON - duration 20 minutes.
  • Teacher in the classroom will make Presentation of this Lecture from his Laptop over Video Display located beside Blackboard. The Teacher can walk around the classroom and will control this presentation with a remote control and explain oneself the Presentation; in some cases, the teacher can leave on the original sound from the CD ROM.
  • After this presentation in the form of Frontal Lecture, students will be split in small groups to work on tasks or problems from the presentation; in many cases it could be part of the homework. Those solved tasks or problems could be further exercise at home without help from another person.
  • With lecture presentation is covered the first phase of teaching and learning. Second phase should be exercise and repetition. The last phase is examination!
  • The test was until now, the common method of examination.

  • But, there was many complains about this method:
    1. Teaching and learning was done for certain subject with certain content but, examination was done with other content material.
    2. Test content - material suppose to be unknown before the test itself.
    3. In many cases this test material was known and, there was complains that the students are somehow trained or drilled for the test.

  • Is there alternative for the test?
    Yes, there is alternative for Test and is called Quiz!
  • What is the Quiz and what is the difference ?
    1. The Quiz content - material - questions are definite before Lecture Presentations are prepared and made.
    2. The quiz questions will be integrated and asked during Lecture presentation.
    3. Opposite to Test, the same questions are used during Lecture, exercise and examination !

  • What tools are used for Quiz?
  • There is one System used for Quiz and is known as ARS - Audience Response Systems using Multiple Choice Questions.
  • There are number of those System on the market and some of them are explain later.

It is very important to notice that any Test or Quiz Examination System should have the same input and output conditions. What that means?

Input condition. Using the new Curriculum with prepared and, with CD ROM distributed lecture presentations, the students around the Country, in large or small Cities, villages, islands or farms will have very close (or same) Contents and quality Lectures!

Output condition. Using the same Multiple Choice Question will provide opportunity for equal or the same chance for Education.


Can we extend new developed Curriculum for Schools Education to life long learning in the Learning Society and called this Education for the Future?

It is difficult to find any reason why this New Curriculum with prepared Lecture Presentation can not be used in different Educations Institution outside the School, as well as Television Broadcasting under certain conditions.
 Education Content broadcast to Home Television is sometimes called edutainment!
 
And, talking about Globalization of Education we are talking, first of all, abut Globalization of Content - Materials for the New Curriculum!


Or, talking generally about Globalization how much good and, how much bad experience we have seen until now? But, let us think positive and let us bring the Standards from different countries close to each other.

With other words, to exchange money, goods or experience for Education, we need close relationship between those phenomena!

How about using very close, or the same New Curriculum and Education Content?!

We are talking here about those Lecture Presentation that are produced from group of Teachers and are recorded on CD ROM and used from the Classroom Teacher for presentation in the Classroom. Rich and wealthy developed countries can invest in this project and, make it available for underdeveloped country for symbolic charge!

How about USA?

Education is on the top of list for President Obama Administration. And USA had spent lot of $$$$ in recent years for evolution of Education. Unfortunately but, they did not always had a "lucky had", to make it right.
With the New Curriculum and new Input and Output conditions, the NCLB project - No Child Left Behind Act - can get a new start.

We read in the title of the book from Professor Yong Zhao: Catching Up or Leading the Way - American Education in the Age of Globalization

It could be late for "or" alternative. How about:
American Education should Catch Up and, Lead the Way in the Age of Globalization !

It is strongly recommended to read this Book from Professor Yong Zhao. It is deep analyses of Education and, not only in USA and China.

From year 1990 to 1999 it was the Decade for Neuroscience.
From year 2000 to 2009 it was the Decade of Mind.

At Year 2010 we start the Decade of Education. Let us have a good luck!!
